ASCO (collective)

ASCO was a chicano artist's collective in Los Angeles, active from 1972 to 1987.[1] Asco comes from a Spanish word meaning nausea. [2]

In December 1972, Harry Gamboa, Jr., Gronk, Willie Herrón, and Patssi Valdez tagged a bridge in front of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.[3] Other artists joined the group, including: Diane Gamboa, Sean Carrillo, Daniel J. Martinez, and Teddy Sandoval.[4]
